    Shawn Griffin
    Shawn Griffin graduated from the University of Nebraska with his Bachelor's in Psychology and later his Master's in Community Counseling.  He moved to Colorado in 1999.  He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado since 1999 and has over 17 years of experience in the fields of mental health and substance abuse. 

    His experience includes work in residential, hospital, and outpatient settings.  In his private practice, he works with adults and couples, with expertise in depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorders, trauma using EMDR (2nd Level Clinician), and couples counseling. 

    In addition to this clinical work, he has been co-owner and Clinical Director of Running Creek Counseling since 2000.  The agency provides court ordered and volunteer treatment groups for adolescents and adults with DUI/DWAI's, substance abuse, domestic violence and anger management issues.  Individual and family counseling is also available with one of the five counselors on staff.

    Nanci Gonzales
    Nanci Gonzales earned her BA in Psychology from Columbia college and MA from the University of Northern Colorado in Community Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addictions Counselor III (CACIII) in Colorado . She started her counseling career at Aurora Mental Health's residential treatment program for the chronically mentally ill. She completed her internship at Aurora Mental Health's Early Child and Family Development Center working in the therapeutic kindergarten and with children and families. She also provided respite care in Jefferson County 's Mental Health Center 's Child and Family Services Department. In addition, she was chosen to be Aurora Mental Health's representative to present mental health services to the newly opened Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) in Arapahoe County .

    In 2000, she moved to Aurora Center for Treatment and earned her CACIII and became an approved domestic violence treatment provider. At Aurora Center for Treatment, she worked with individuals court ordered to be treated for DUI, substance abuse, and/or domestic violence, as well as complete evaluations on adults and juveniles.

    Since 2004, Nanci has been in private practice, working with children, teens, and families and individuals. In addition, she continues to do work with court-ordered domestic violence and substance abusing teens and contracts with Running Creek Counseling to provide group treatment of domestic violence offenders.
